Creonos has spent more than a decade working on the ground in emerging markets in finance and banking.  Originating with the Capricorn Research group, we provided research on high-net worth individuals in Latin American for financial services and banking groups. Recognizing the dearth of information on the then-booming LatAm region, we launched Alternative Latin Investor magazine.

ALI provided in-depth information regarding alternative asset class investment within the region, with special focus on funds, private equity, renewable energy, and agribusiness. As the world at large began to see a huge growth in emerging markets to emerging market investment, we expanded our coverage to the rest of the globe, launching Alternative Emerging Investor, adding Asia and Africa to current LatAm coverage.

This expansion culminated with the creation of the Emerging Market Investor’s Association (EMIA). EMIA’s goal was to provide expert information and direct contact to experts, with the trifold goal of increasing investor returns (through greater transparency), increasing member AuM through greater exposure, and to ultimately improve quality of life for those living in emerging markets.

From this unique point of view into the logistical requirements of finance in emerging markets, and building on many years of experience in this niche, we have launched Creonos. We perceive that financial markets and institutions in the developed world wrongly view emerging jurisdictions as inherently risky. We feel this is irrational and counterproductive, and seek to work with clients in order to make clear their commitment to compliance and best practices.
